Award-winning Ghanaian gospel sensation Diana Hamilton has explained her reluctance to host events at the iconic O2 Arena in the UK.

Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM on February 2, 2026, Hamilton was asked whether she had considered the O2 Arena as one of the venues for her Awake Experience 2026 tour.

She replied that the venue had been discussed in meetings with her team.

‘I wouldn’t be disappointed if there’s no heaven but I have hope there is’ – Diana Hamilton

However, she highlighted two key barriers.

First, she said venue regulations prevent artistes from owning videos or content produced during events.

“The only thing with the O2 is that when we do these events, we get content like videos out of that. How many O2 events have you seen content from that was put out? The laws of that venue do not allow you to own videos from that place,” she stated.

Secondly, she alleged that gospel artistes are charged higher fees than secular counterparts, often more than double, due to not selling alcohol.

“Whatever they charge us as secular artistes, they charge gospel artistes more than double that. And I’ll tell you why: because you don’t sell alcohol. Everything is against us,” she added.
