Bibiani GoldStars snatched a dramatic late victory after defender Kelvin struck deep into stoppage-time to secure all three points in a tightly contested Ghana Premier League encounter against Swedru All Blacks at DUN’s Park on Sunday.

The match was largely balanced from the opening exchanges, with both sides showing discipline and caution, aware of what was at stake.

GoldStars, keen to end their recent winless run and goal drought, enjoyed slightly more possession in the early stages but struggled to break down a resolute All Blacks defence.

The visitors, playing under new head coach Kasim Mingle Ocansey, were well organised and looked dangerous on the counter, forcing the home side to stay alert at the back.

Clear-cut chances were limited in the first half, as midfield battles dominated proceedings.

GoldStars probed patiently, while All Blacks remained compact, ensuring the teams went into the break on level terms after a goalless but competitive opening 45 minutes.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with both teams trading periods of control.

GoldStars increased the tempo as the game wore on, urged forward by the home crowd, but All Blacks continued to defend with discipline and threatened sporadically on the break.

As the clock ticked down, the contest appeared destined to end in a draw.

However, deep into stoppage-time, GoldStars found the decisive moment.

Defender Oppong rose to the occasion, capitalising on a late attacking situation to fire home the winning goal, sparking wild celebrations inside the stadium.

The late strike sealed a crucial victory for the defending champions, extending their unbeaten home run and providing a timely boost in confidence.

It was a heartbreaking for All Blacks end to an otherwise resilient performance that yielded no reward.
