In an effort to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced intentions to deploy franchise officers throughout all of its district operations regions nationwide starting in February 2026. ECG stated that the program is intended to improve revenue mobilization and monitoring while bringing its services closer to customers in a public notification dated Friday, January 30. The corporation claims that franchise officers will be in charge of distributing postpaid bills to clients, reading postpaid meters, and verifying the integrity of prepaid meters. Additionally, the officers will let clients pay their bills via the ECG Power App or the short code *226#, print postpaid bills using mobile devices through spot billing, and disconnect customers whose accounts are past due.
