The Universal Friendship Organisation Ghana (UFO) has commended the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what it describes as thorough and commendable preparations toward the party’s internal elections scheduled for January 31, 2026.

In a press release issued in Accra on Monday, the organisation praised the NPP’s commitment to democratic principles, noting that the measures put in place reflect an effort to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process.

UFO Ghana also applauded the five aspirants contesting in the elections for their decision to sign a peace pact, describing the move as a clear demonstration of their commitment to unity, tolerance, and non-violence before, during, and after the polls.

According to the organisation, the initiative reinforces internal cohesion and sets a positive example for political engagement.

While welcoming these developments, the organisation cautioned the party and its members to remain mindful of actions that could undermine peace and national security.

It urged the NPP’s leadership, aspirants, and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and to prioritize peace and mutual respect throughout the electoral process.

“As an organisation committed to promoting peace, unity, and stability through friendship, we believe this election should be treated as a family affair and conducted in a calm and peaceful environment,” the statement said, stressing that there should be no room for violence or bloodshed.

UFO Ghana further called on the Electoral Commission and all stakeholders involved in the process to ensure that the elections are conducted in a credible and transparent manner.

It noted that a peaceful and credible internal election would not only strengthen the NPP but also contribute positively to Ghana’s overall democratic stability.

The organisation expressed confidence that the successful conduct of the elections would reflect the NPP’s institutional strength and its adherence to democratic values, positioning the party for future political success.

The statement was signed by Samuel Adobah, President of Universal Friendship Organisation Ghana; Gifty Nyamekye, Vice President and Francis Fosu Andoh, Executive Secretary.
