Alexander Akwesi Acquah, the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, has revealed that he was deeply disappointed when he was appointed as Board Chairman of the Grains and Legumes Development Authority under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, by the time his appointment was made, almost all the lucrative positions had already been shared.

He said the role offered to him was one he considered relatively low, which left him feeling disappointed.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, excerpts of which have been shared on social media, the MP stated that he later went on to serve as a Deputy Minister of Health.

“I was also made a board chairman at the Grains and Legumes Development Authority.

“On the day I received my appointment letter and went there, I was very sad because all the positions had already been shared.

“They said that because the Oda MP didn’t get anything, he should take this,” he recounted.

“I asked someone about the place and he said it was good, so I looked at him and said it wasn’t his fault. After working hard to bring the party to power, this was what I received,” he added.

He further disclosed that he was encouraged by a party member, Oppong Bio, to remain in the position.
