Reggae musician and media personality Blakk Rasta has clapped back at dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, following a GH¢100 million defamation lawsuit filed by the latter.

Blakk Rasta, speaking on his popular show aired on YouTube on January 26, 2026, said he has not received any writ of summons despite Shatta Wale publicly sharing details of the lawsuit on social media.

According to Blakk Rasta, it has been almost 10 days since the camp of the dancehall musician publicised the lawsuit, questioning whether the action was only meant for social media.

“Shatta Wale said he was taking Blakk Rasta to court. The court documents were already circulating in the media, yet Blakk Rasta has received no writ of summons. About 10 days have gone by now no summons. Or is this a social media court case? Is it just hype?” he said.

Blakk Rasta further questioned the delay in serving him with court processes, especially after Shatta Wale claimed he had competent lawyers.

“He said he would use me as an example and that he has money to pay his lawyers. Shatta, you say you have money and good lawyers, let them serve me quickly. What are they waiting for?” he added.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale, on January 19, 2026, filed a lawsuit against the media personality, accusing him of broadcasting false, misleading, and scandalous statements intended to damage his reputation.

In the writ of summons, Shatta Wale stated that the video in question attracted significant public attention within 24 hours of its publication, garnering over 150,000 views on Facebook and more than 27,000 views on YouTube, along with thousands of comments and reactions.
