Hometown Records, a newly established record label in Kumasi has been unveiled.

Speaking at the unveiling and signing ceremony, Mr Fidel Idun Kuranchie, popularly known as DJ Kaxtro, outlined the record label’s vision.

According to him, the label aims to unearth, nurture and propel the numerous talents in the city to their highest potential.

“Kumasi is and has been home to many talents since the days of Adam. However, the challenge has always been the lack of proper label services and structures to propel these talents to greater heights. Hometown Records is not only focused on music talents. We intend to sign on other creatives to build a greater ecosystem from this part of the country,” he said.

Aside from the unveiling, Hometown Records, also outdoored its first signed artiste, Ben Brainy.

A graduate of the Takoradi Technical University, Ben Brainy, born Benjamin Yamoah, is a talented musician and producer with a great catalogue who looks forward to sharing his talent with the world.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, an optimistic Ben Brainy said, “It’s such a great moment in my career. Almost everyone on the label is someone I’ve known and worked with in different ways for over 10 years. They are family, and their vision aligns with mine, hence my signing to the label.”

Ben Briany is expected to release his first official single under Hometown Records in November 2024.
