The Minority in Parliament, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has issued a stern warning to Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie and the judges of the Supreme Court, urging them to uphold their integrity amid ongoing legal proceedings.

Speaking at a press briefing on January 26, 2026, the Minority said they were aware of recent filings in the courts but cautioned that the judiciary’s decisions would be closely scrutinised by Ghanaians.

“We have heard that certain people have filed processes at the court. We also have this to tell my Lord Baffoe-Bonnie; we know that this job was handed to you on a silver platter. We know that you have your masters to please, but my Lord Baffoe-Bonnie, in the end, when history is being written, it will be your name,” he warned.

The Minority also reminded Supreme Court judges of the commitments they made during their vetting, emphasising that their actions are being closely monitored.

“To our judges at the Supreme Court, Ghanaians are watching how you determine the matters that are coming before you, requesting your own integrity,” he stated.

“When you came for vetting, you made certain commitments to the people of Ghana. Ghanaians heard you, so again, the mighty Minority is watching you,” he added.

Afenyo-Markin further emphasised that the Minority will not be intimidated by threats of contempt for criticising the judiciary.

“We will not be silenced by threats of contempt. If, by criticising the judiciary, they decide to march us into Nsawam, we are ready to become prisoners of conscience,” he declared.
