Bullgod (L) argues that Kwesi Arthur’s (R) public outburst against his former label was not right Bullgod (L) argues that Kwesi Arthur’s (R) public outburst against his former label was not right

With issues surrounding artistes, managers, and contracts increasingly becoming a topic of discussion within the entertainment industry, artiste manager Bullgod has described Kwesi Arthur’s outburst against his former management as a display of ignorance on the part of the rapper.

According to Bullgod, publicly calling out his former record label boss, Glen Boateng, in that manner was dangerous and created public disaffection toward someone who had invested in his career.

“What has happened is just a pure display of ignorance. Ignorance, yes, on the part of Kwesi Arthur. Either it’s ignorance, or he knows what he’s about. What he did was extremely dangerous, especially putting Glenn out there for people to hate. You’re causing public disaffection for an individual who has invested in you before,” Bullgod said on Channel One TV.

He added that if Kwesi Arthur had any issues with his former management, ‘Ground Up’, there were better ways to address them rather than exposing individuals to ridicule or attacks from the public.

“That’s not the way to go. If you have qualms with anybody, there are a lot of channels you can use to address your qualms,” he noted.

Bullgod also reacted to Kwesi Arthur’s claims of not making any financial returns during his time under the label.

He pointed to emails from the former management showing otherwise, suggesting that the rapper’s statements were untrue.

“To come out and say you’ve not made a dime, when there are emails contrary to what you just said, clearly points that you are a liar. I’m hoping that by now he should be out there putting another statement out to say, ‘Hey, I retract what I said,” he added.

What Bullgod said about 90% of Ghanaian artistes’ contracts

Bullgod’s statement comes in response to several allegations made by Kwesi Arthur against music executive Glenn Boateng and some members of the ‘Ground Up Chale’ team, a label he was previously signed to.

The rapper accused the record label of intimidation, financial demands, and attempts to block his independent releases, as well as not making any money from his music while under them.

However, lawyer for the label, Jonathan Amable, rejected claims that the company has prevented Kwesi Arthur from using his images.

He explained that the artiste was only restricted from using specific footage owned by the label and provided email evidence showing that the rapper earned money while signed under them.
