Ghanaian professional dancer, Dancegod Lloyd, has opened up about how he decided to explore other areas in the creative business.

Speaking on Joy Prime TV, the dancer said he had always wanted to pursue a career in dance but realised there were not enough songs suitable for dancing.

As a result, he and some colleagues decided to create a few songs they could dance to, which marked the beginning of his journey.

“The reason why I started doing music is not that I want to be a musician; I felt like there were no dance songs back in the day. We used to hang out with a lot of music artiste myself and Afrobeast, so I was like bro don’t you think we can do this?

“So our manager at the time invited a producer over so we could experiment, and our first song was ‘Conner there,’ and it went viral. That’s how it started,” he explained

Dancegod added that the popularity of most of his songs had other artistes like Medikal reach out to him to collaborate.

“Medikal called me, he was like I’ve heard your song, you do music? Come over, let’s do something together. So I did sika with him, which also went viral, and was like ok we are here,” he added.

He continued that the idea was just to make money and danceable songs, but today he is also making bangers.
