A female Nigerian journalist lambasted her Moroccan colleagues for their unprofessional behavior towards Senegal coach Pape Thiaw after Senegal edged Morocco to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
After a tense and dramatic game, Thiaw took some time before arriving at the press room in Rabat for his post-match conference to address issues and share his thoughts on the victory.
However, immediately upon his arrival, Moroccan journalists in the room began booing Thiaw, claiming he had negatively influenced the game by instructing his players to walk off the pitch, which they argued distracted their team.

The boos continued for a while, and when officials tried to calm tensions and asked them to stop, the disruption persisted, eventually leading to the cancellation of the press conference.
The Nigerian reporter who was not happy about the conduct of her colleagues from Morocco criticised them for their unethical behavior following the loss.
She expressed concern that Nigerians did not behave in such a manner when they were defeated, warning that such conduct could damage the image of the tournament.
“He worked for it and he deserves it. We have interviews to do. We have late nights. We do not engage in fun because we are scared to go outside. And then you are telling me that the man will not be interviewed?
“What is wrong with you? Sore losers and unprofessional. When you beat Nigeria, did we act like this? Lousy losers. You’re putting a great tournament into jeopardy,” she fumed.
