Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez and his wife Valentina Cervantes have agreed to part ways for a while to focus on their lives, The Mirror reports.
Enzo’s wife, in a post on Instagram, confirmed that she and her husband have reached an agreement to go their separate ways and support the upkeep of their two children.
She stated that Enzo has been a good father who cares about them and wished the footballer the best of luck in his career.
In an Instagram story, Cervantes wrote, “Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other today. But we will always be family, and we will support each other in everything. Because there are two children involved who need a lot of love from us.
“I know the person Enzo is and what an excellent father he is, as well as the heart he has. And that is enough for me. Please don’t try to create conflicts where there are none.”
Meanwhile, according to reports by The Mirror, Fernandez has told Cervantes he “feels the need to experience the stage he skipped by choosing family early on.”
As such, the 23-year-old has reportedly expressed a desire to live alone.
Fernandez, who joined Chelsea for a whopping £105 million from Benfica in January 2023, has had inconsistent performances for the Blues despite being added to the leadership group.
In a recent interview with Chelsea’s website, Fernandez admitted that he is not at 100% in terms of performance and hopes to recover fully as the season progresses.
