The Ladies section of Achimota Golf Club has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to breast cancer awareness and support with the donation of GH₵40,000 to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The cheque presentation took place on Friday, January 16, 2025, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The donation was formally handed over by the Lady Captain of Achimota Golf Club, Kous Louanges Mang to Dr Florence Dedey, in support of breast cancer awareness, treatment, and care.

Present at the ceremony were Anas Hamidu, Josephine Nsaful, Benjamin Fenu, and Florence Dedey, who received the cheque on behalf of the hospital.

Also present were the Lady Vice Captain, Selasie Gbedamah, the immediate past Lady Captain, Elizabeth Essel-Koomson, as well as two representatives from Allstar Insurance Brokers Company Ltd, the title sponsor of the Pink Cup Tournament.

The donation was raised through the annual Pink Cup Tournament, an initiative organized by the Achimota Golf Club Ladies Section to promote breast cancer awareness through sport and advocacy.

The tournament brings together golfers, sponsors, and supporters who rally around the cause each year.

Speaking at the event, Kous Louanges Mang emphasized that the donation reflects the club’s long-standing commitment to supporting women’s health.

She noted that the Ladies Section of Achimota Golf Club has been actively supporting breast cancer awareness for the past seven years, consistently using the Pink Cup as a platform to make a positive social impact.

“This year’s donation of GHS 40,000 builds on our contribution of GHS 30,000 last year, and it reflects the growing support and generosity of our golfers, sponsors, and partners,” she said.

The representatives of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital also expressed their gratitude to the Achimota Golf Club Ladies Section and their sponsors for the continuous support, describing the donation as timely and impactful in the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

The Achimota Golf Club Ladies Section reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the Pink Cup initiative and strengthening partnerships that promote awareness, early detection, and care for breast cancer patients across Ghana.
