Ghanaian actor-turned-evangelist Majid Michel has addressed long-standing public perceptions surrounding his spiritual role, stressing that he is not a pastor as widely believed.

In an interview shared on X on January 16, 2026, the celebrated film star responded to questions about how his supposed ministry was progressing. Majid used the opportunity to correct what he described as a media-created narrative.

According to him, he has never been ordained into pastoral ministry and does not lead a church. He explained that the title “pastor” was attached to his name by the public and media outlets rather than through any formal religious process.

“The media made me a pastor,” Majid stated firmly. “I am not ordained. I don’t have a church.”

The actor further revealed that he does not attend church services regularly, noting that he only goes when invited to speak. In a candid admission, he said he does not particularly enjoy church gatherings.

Majid emphasized that his true calling lies in teaching the Word of God rather than pastoring a congregation. He urged the public to recognize him as a Christian teacher and motivational speaker, not a church leader.

“I am a teacher of the Word of God,” he explained, adding that this description more accurately reflects his spiritual mission.

Majid Michel, once one of Ghana’s most sought-after actors, has in recent years devoted much of his life to Christian ministry, frequently sharing sermons, inspirational messages, and biblical teachings across platforms. Despite the widespread perception of him as a pastor, his latest clarification seeks to redefine his role and correct the public record.
