Ghanaian musician Beeztrap, known for his captivating mix of Afrobeats and rap, shared his openness to collaborate with political parties in Ghana.

“No political party has reached out to me yet,” he stated, clarifying his stance. “But when they do, I wouldn’t mind working with them. I would charge them a substantial amount, though.”

This statement reflects a trend in Ghana’s political landscape, where musicians are often called upon for campaign songs, endorsements, and rallies to energize voters and appeal to the youth.

The rapper also discussed his recent collaborations with top-tier Ghanaian artists Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, calling it “a blessing.”

He acknowledged the challenges of working with such high-profile figures, describing the experience as both exciting and surreal.

“It’s not easy to get them,” he admitted. Beeztrap revealed that Sarkodie, known for his swift flow and multi-lingual lyrics, directly reached out to him on Instagram.

“Straight up, the magic happened,” he said, capturing the spontaneity of their collaboration, which he credited to Sarkodie’s support for emerging talent.

In the case of Stonebwoy, Beeztrap explained that the collaboration took shape through his manager, Tokyo, who facilitated the link-up.

Stonebwoy, an internationally recognized Afropop and reggae-dancehall artist, added his unique sound and influence to Beeztrap’s project, bringing the collaboration to life.

Beeztrap’s willingness to collaborate with political parties highlights the role of artists in Ghana’s socio-political space.

Musicians like Shatta Wale, Samini, and others have previously shown support for political parties, either through direct endorsements or by performing at campaign events.

However, Beeztrap’s emphasis on a “substantial amount” suggests he values both the influence and responsibility that comes with endorsing political agendas.
