Just when Ghanaians thought the controversies surrounding the burial of the late Daddy Lumba had come to an end after he was laid to rest, fresh disputes have emerged.

Recently, following the musician’s death on July 26, 2025, several controversies erupted, including issues surrounding widowhood rites among his spouses, autopsy, and burial date, among others.

Subsequently, a fresh controversy has emerged following the arrival of the late musician’s wife in the country, as she has reportedly filed for letters of administration concerning Daddy Lumba’s estate.

Akosua Serwaa appeals High Court decision rejecting her marriage certificate

According to reports, Akosua Serwaa appeared before the Kumasi High Court on January 14, 2026, exactly one month after her late husband was laid to rest, and filed for letters of administration to manage and distribute the singer’s properties.

However, in response, the musician’s other partner, Odo Broni, together with her legal team, has filed a caveat to challenge Akosua Serwaa’s application.

According to Odo Broni’s legal team, Akosua Serwaa cannot consider herself the sole surviving spouse of the late Daddy Lumba and, therefore, lacks the capacity to independently apply for letters of administration.

Following the filing of the caveat, the court has given Akosua Serwaa and her legal team seven days to prove why they should be granted the letters of administration to manage and distribute the properties of the late Daddy Lumba.
