Following the warm reception accorded to Akosua Serwaa, widow of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, at the Kotoka International Airport, the Asantehene’s Nkosuohene has also weighed in on the matter, sparking widespread discussion on social media.

In a video that went viral on January 12, 2026, Otumfuo’s Nkosuohene, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie, stated that Akosua Serwaa Fosu is the only surviving spouse of the late Highlife icon.

According to the Asanteman Nkosuohene, he can confidently say that Akosua Serwaa Fosu is the only woman the late Daddy Lumba publicly introduced as his wife. He therefore does not recognise Odo Broni as the musician’s widow.

“I will not come here to insult anyone who says something that is not true, but I know who I support. I know who my brother, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, married. So if anyone says otherwise, that is up to the person.

“Anytime I pray, I pray for Maame Akosua Serwaa. All I have to tell her is that she should be strong, because I know victory is hers. Akosua Serwaa Fosu is the only person I know,” he said.

Nkosuohene Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie further urged “Team Legal Wives,” supporters of Akosua Serwaa Fosu, to stand firmly with the late musician’s spouse during her time of grief.

“Everyone knows that I am a truthful person, and what I have said is the truth. Therefore, you should take what I have said and support Akosua Serwaa. Do not change my words. I do not know anybody aside from Akosua Serwaa,” he added.
