Promotion hopefuls Semper Fi FC were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by WAFA SC at Sogakope, extending their winless run despite another strong display in the Access Bank Division One League Zone III.

Semper Fi dominated large spells and created the better chances, but composure in front of goal deserted them at key moments.

Clear openings went begging as WAFA’s back line stood firm and their goalkeeper produced timely interventions to keep the scores level.

The stalemate marks a third successive draw and fourth game without victory for Semper Fi, yet they remain second in the Zone Three standings with 29 points from 15 matches, still well placed in the title race.

There were positives in the control, tempo, and chance creation, suggesting results will turn if efficiency improves.

Attention now shifts to the next test against True Democracy as the second round of the season gets underway next weekend.
