Dr. Linda Bentuma Osei, a lecturer in the Department of Environmental and Safety Engineering, has been awarded the prestigious Academic Excellence in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Award.
This honor was presented at the inaugural African Women in EHS Conference and Awards, organized by the Society of Women in Safety, Health, and Environment (SOWSHE-A).
The award recognizes Dr. Osei’s significant contributions to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental sustainability, marking a milestone in her impressive academic and research career.
Dr. Osei, who holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), has focused her research on developing innovative, sustainable solutions for industrial wastewater treatment using nanomaterials.
Her work addresses critical environmental challenges, promoting practices that enhance occupational safety and protect ecological systems.
Beyond her research, Dr. Osei is known for her dedication to community outreach.
She actively advocates for environmental health and safety, conducting awareness programs and promoting women’s empowerment within her field.
Her leadership and advocacy have inspired aspiring environmental professionals, making her an influential role model in the industry.
