Following the massive traffic congestion caused by church members of popular Ghanaian pastor Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah on the Kumasi–Accra Highway on December 31, 2025, Prophet Kumchacha has weighed in on the matter.

In an interview with Zionfelix, and shared on Instagram on January 7, 2026, Prophet Kumchacha called on Ghanaians who have criticised the cleric over the traffic situation to refrain from blaming Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah.

According to Kumchacha, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah should not be blamed for the traffic congestion, as successive governments have failed over the years to construct a dual carriageway on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.

Kumchacha explains why he was seen copying tribute in Daddy Lumba’s book of condolence

“There was huge traffic on the road. We arrived at the church around 9 PM after leaving Accra at 2 PM. I want to apologise to drivers who used the highway that day because the traffic was terrible.

“Prophet Adom Kyei is not responsible for ensuring that there was no traffic; all he did was to involve the police and soldiers to help control the situation, so we shouldn’t blame him,” he said.

Prophet Kumchacha further appealed to the government to construct a dual road to ease the movement of travelers, especially during festive seasons.

“I went to Prophet Adom Kyei’s church to worship with him. I want to plead with John Mahama’s government, or any future government, to construct a dual road on the Kumasi–Accra highway. I know John Mahama is doing very well, but I am appealing to him to prioritise the construction of the road.

“Even though Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah involved the police and soldiers, the situation overwhelmed them. I believe lessons will be taken from this experience, and when there is another major church event like that, measures will be put in place to ensure that what happened on December 31 does not happen again,” he added.
