‎ In a landmark gesture of compassion and national development, renowned businessman and philanthropist Seidu Agongo has completed and handed over a fully constructed hospital block to the Ghana Police Service, marking a transformative leap in healthcare delivery for both police personnel and vulnerable members of society.

    ‎

‎The newly completed medical facility, previously an abandoned and partially constructed project initiated by the Ghana Police Service, has now been fully realized thanks to the selfless intervention of Seidu Agongo. The structure, which had stalled at the initial stage due to financial and logistical challenges, now stands as a 100% completed healthcare center designed to address critical medical needs across the country.

    ‎

‎COP/Dr. Sumuel Otu-Nyarko of the Ghana Police Medical Department, who spoke at the commissioning ceremony, expressed profound gratitude to the donor, stating: “We started this project because people were forced to sleep in tents as they received healthcare due to lack of space and proper infrastructure. It was extremely difficult for us to complete. Then came our savior, Seidu Agongo, who took a huge burden off our shoulders. This facility will change lives.”

    ‎

‎The hospital block is especially significant in providing specialized care for individuals with mental health conditions and those injured in accidents, many of whom were previously housed in temporary tent structures. Before the completion of this facility, the Ghana Police Service had been managing ad-hoc medical interventions under dire conditions, often lacking sufficient shelter, medical equipment, and privacy for patients.

    ‎

‎”This was not just about giving to the Ghana Police Service,” said Seidu Agongo during the handover. “I did this not for the police alone, but for God and for humanity. Every person who lives in this country has a role to play in helping society move forward. If we all contribute in one way or the other, we can build a better Ghana.”

    ‎

‎Seidu Agongo, known for his quiet but impactful philanthropy, funded the entire construction, including structural completion, interior fixtures, and medical readiness provisions. While the official name of the facility remains undecided, plans are underway to formally recognize the contribution and dedicate the center in honor of community health and public service.

    ‎

‎The Ghana Police Service has pledged to operationalize the hospital block with immediate effect. Officials anticipate that the facility will serve not only police officers and their families but also civilians in surrounding communities, particularly those facing mental health challenges or trauma.

    ‎

    ‎

‎As Ghana continues to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure, the story of Seidu Agongo’s benevolent intervention serves as both inspiration and a call to action for others to invest in the well-being of the nation.
