The plea from the former Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, remains a haunting reality for many: “The talk is enough. Give those experiencing the impact of climate change the funds to survive.” (https://earthjournalism.net/stories/release-funds-to-combat-climate-change-impacts-dr-kokofu)

As Ghana faces a staggering requirement of up to $15.5 billion to implement its climate action plans by 2030, a critical question remains: How do we ensure these funds reach the people who need them most?

    The Missing Link: Information Literacy

High-level climate policy often fails at the “last mile” because it is trapped in technical jargon. While global donors discuss “mitigation” and “adaptation,” a farmer in the Upper East Region is simply watching her crops fail due to erratic rainfall. To build a resilient Ghana, we must speak the language of the people.

Our Initiative: Localizing the Climate Conversation

As part of our 2026 initiatives, Neoreportgh is launching an ambitious multimedia advocacy project designed to bridge the gap between global policy and local action. We are moving beyond headlines to create deep-impact educational content.

    Our 2024–2025 Roadmap Includes:

Investigative Documentaries: A series of online and televised features examining the real-world impact of climate change on Ghana’s agriculture, coastline, and urban health.

The “Mother Tongue” Library: Short-form educational videos produced in Akan, Ga, Ewe, and Dagbani. We believe climate science should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of formal education.

Radio Advocacy: Partnerships with selected regional radio stations to broadcast “Climate Minutes”—practical tips for disaster preparedness and sustainable living in local dialects.

A Call to Action for Donors and Partners

Dr. Kokofu’s call for the West to “release the funds” is a call for justice. We are inviting development partners, corporate organizations, and NGOs to join us in ensuring those funds translate into informed communities.

    Why Partner With Us?

Grassroots Reach: Our focus on local languages ensures that your message reaches the 60%+ of the population outside the “English-speaking elite.”

Accountability: Our documentaries provide a transparent lens through which climate funding and projects can be tracked and reported.

Behavioral Change: By educating citizens on why the weather is changing, we empower them to adopt sustainable practices like reforestation and waste management.

“Removing the systematic institutional, policy, and financial barriers is the surest way to making climate action work for the vulnerable.” — Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu

    Join the Movement

We are seeking partners for sponsorship, technical equipment support, and content distribution. Together, we can ensure that when the funds are released, Ghana is ready to use them effectively.
