Season 6 of The Next Gospel Star came to a glorious close in spectacular fashion as Teekay was crowned the overall winner at a thrilling grand finale held at the National Theatre, Accra, on Sunday, 21st December 2025.
After weeks of fierce competition and soul-stirring performances, Teekay emerged victorious, winning over both judges and audiences with her vocal excellence, stage presence, and spiritual depth. Her triumph was sealed with the presentation of the key to a Toyota Vitz saloon car, handed over by the Chief Executive Officer of Ceejay Multimedia and Executive Producer of the show, Mr. Joe Osae.
The night also celebrated exceptional talent across the board. DNA secured the first runner-up position, while Nathaniel finished as second runner-up. In recognition of their outstanding performances, the top three finalists received dummy cheques as follows:
• ₵10,000 – Teekay (Winner)
• ₵7,000 – DNA (First Runner-up)
• ₵5,000 – Nathaniel (Second Runner-up)
Commendation is further extended to all eight finalists who lit up the grand finale stage, as well as the 20 contestants who registered and competed in this sixth season, making it one of the most competitive editions yet.
Ceejay Multimedia expresses heartfelt appreciation to its partners and sponsors, notably Twellium Industrial Co. Ltd. (producers of Bigoo Drinks), Volta Hotel, Dodi World – Ghana’s leading aqua tourism destination, and the Akwaaba Festival 2026 Organizing Secretariat, whose unwavering support continues to propel the vision of the show.
Judging on the night was led by a distinguished panel comprising Dr. Ben Amakye Boateng, Rev. J. Michael Antonio, and Carl Clottey, who also treated the audience to beautiful renditions of Christmas carols, adding a warm festive glow to the evening.
Special recognition goes to the hardworking production team, with notable mention of MC Kafukafu and Rev. Mabel Germain, whose dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail ensured a seamless and memorable production.
In a reflective address, the producer offered profound gratitude to Almighty God for sustaining the show through 13 demanding weeks of live production, often under challenging sponsorship conditions. He expressed a heartfelt appeal for continued support from the Christian community in Ghana, emphasizing the vital role The Next Gospel Star plays in discovering, grooming, and promoting emerging gospel music talents.
Appreciation is also extended to the loyal patrons and fans whose consistent support has firmly positioned The Next Gospel Star as Ghana’s leading gospel reality television show.
Looking ahead, Ceejay Multimedia is set to host the Akwaaba Festival 2026, scheduled for 5th to 7th March 2026 at the National Theatre. The three-day event promises a vibrant celebration of Ghana’s culture, heritage, and tourism.
Additionally, on Monday, 29th December, the top three winners—Teekay, DNA, and Nathaniel—will embark on a three-day luxury retreat in Akosombo, courtesy of the generous management of Volta Hotel and Dodi World. Special thanks go to Mr. Stephen Ofori and his dedicated team for their continued support of The Next Gospel Star and the Miss Akwaaba Culture and Tourism Reality Show.
All glory be to God, as anticipation already builds for even greater heights in Season 7.
