    Former WBA Africa Light Heavyweight champion, Seth Gyimah popularly known as Freezy Macbones wants “his flowers” for playing a crucial role in the boxing resurgence in Ghana.

    Acccrdoing to Freezy Macbones, the boxing resurgence in the country currently didn’t happen by chancer as the sport was dead when he returned to Ghana from the UK 3 years ago.

    Reflecting on the state of the sport a few years ago, the outspoken boxer said boxing lacked energy and direction before his return from the UK.

    In an interview on Onua TV, Freezy Macbones maintained that his influence helped reshape the local scene, inspiring competition and professionalism.

    “Three to four years ago, boxing was not like this. I came back from the UK and totally changed that—I need my flowers and credit,” Freezy Macbones said an monitored by GhanaWeb Sports.

    Meanwhile, Freezy Macbones lost the WBA Africa light heavyweight title to Jonathan ‘World Wide’ Tetteh by a unanimous decision at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
