By ANTOINETTE MILIENOS, NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA

    Published: 16:46 EST, 21 December 2025 | Updated: 16:56 EST, 21 December 2025

A man has been charged after he allegedly shared a violent call for action on social media for a ‘bashing day’ event following the Bondi Beach massacre.

The flyer, which was widely shared on Snapchat, Facebook and TikTok, advertised a planned ‘bashing day’ on Cronulla Beach, south Sydney, on December 27.

‘WE RIOT. WOG/MIDDLE EASTERN BASHING DAY. SATURDAY 27TH DECEMBER 2025,’ it stated.

‘SPREAD THE WORD AUSTRALIA! STAND THE F*** UP.’

While not explicitly stated in the post, it’s understood the event was a response to the mass shooting at Bondi Beach – which saw two men allegedly shoot dead 15 people at a celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hannukah.

Police have since arrested 20-year-old Ryder Roy Shaw following an investigation headed by the Counter Terrorism and Specialist Tactics Command.

Officers from ‘Operation Shelter’ – an team set up to curb further violence following the Bondi Beach attack – arrested Shaw in Narara, a suburb on NSW’s Central Coast at about 1.40pm on Sunday.

Shaw was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with use carriage service to menace, harass, offend and publicly threaten violence on grounds of race/religion.
