A fan of popular Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale is reportedly in critical condition after being knocked down by a vehicle following Medikal’s BYK Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The unfortunate incident is said to have occurred as large crowds were exiting the venue after the concert. Eyewitnesses claim the fan ran onto the road in excitement shortly after Shatta Wale’s performance, attempting to collect money sprayed outside the stadium.

A video circulating on social media shows the moment the individual was struck and run over by one of the vehicles believed to be part of Shatta Wale’s convoy. Reports indicate that the musician had sprayed GH₵5 notes, a practice he is widely known for during public appearances, prompting several fans to rush towards the road.

The injured fan was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical care and is currently said to be battling for his life.

The video has since sparked widespread discussion online, with many social media users expressing concern over crowd control and safety during high-profile events. Others have questioned the risks associated with public money-spraying incidents, particularly when large crowds are involved.

As of the time of filing this report, Shatta Wale has not publicly commented on the incident.

Authorities and event safety observers are urging concertgoers to exercise caution in similar situations, emphasizing the importance of personal safety over momentary excitement.
