The newly-installed Paramount Chief of Worawora in the Oti Region, Nana Saforo Baah III, has sworn his allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, December 15, 2025.
Nana Saforo Baah III took the oath of allegiance during the Asanteman Traditional Council Meeting on Tuesday.
Two chiefs swear oath of allegiance to Asantehene
The new paramount chief, wielding the Mponponsuo “responsibility” sword, pledged his allegiance to the Asantehene and Asanteman.
“… I swear an oath that as the grandson of Yaw Baah, Saforo Baah, Asare Baah, and the good service by my forefathers to the ‘sikadwa’ is the same great service and submission that I, Saforo Baah III will continue.
“My Lord Asantehene, I pledge that with this honor you have given me and the Worawora community, I will not disappoint you. I will serve with a humble and good heart to the Worawora community… if you call me and I don’t come, then I have broken the great oath,” he said in Twi amidst cheers from the council members.
Additionally, the new Paramount Chief of the Bechem Traditional Area, the Omanhene, Nana Asibuor Osei Bonsu III, was also installed and swore his allegiance to the Otumfuo.
“Otumfuo, I swear the oath of allegiance that as the descendant and grandson of Nana Asibour Apraku, Nana Fosu Gyeabour II, and the great service of my forefathers to the Asanteman and ‘sikadwa’, is the same great service and submission that I, Asibuor Osei Bonsu III will continue.

“My Lord Asantehene, if you call me whether morning or night, whether rain or shine, I will come… my Lord, if I don’t come, then I have broken the great oath,” he also said in Twi amidst cheers from the council members.
