“I am lonely after coming back from prison. I am now coming to insult him… Abu Trica doesn’t like to pay because he is a stingy person. I stopped following him after the last time I asked him for money. He only gave me GH¢3,000, and that’s why I stopped following him,” he said.
Showboy further stated that he intends to publicly ridicule Abu Trica online.
“I have been saying he is a stingy person. Since he has been arrested, I will announce it to the whole world. If he had sorted me out, I would have kept quiet,” he added.
Abu Trica’s arrest by the FBI
On December 11, 2025, the FBI revealed in an indictment that a federal grand jury had charged the 31-year-old Swedru native with two counts of fraud.
US authorities stated that Abu Trica was part of a network that used AI-generated identities to lure elderly Americans into online relationships beginning in 2023.

The scammers allegedly gained victims’ trust through frequent messages and calls before requesting money for fabricated emergencies, investments, or travel. The funds were then moved through co-conspirators in the US and eventually transferred to Ghana and other destinations.
Abu Trica faces charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and a forfeiture specification, with a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
