The Manhyia Palace has announced that it has completely dissociated itself from the controversies surrounding the death and funeral arrangements of late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba.

In a disclaimer shared by Opemsuo Radio on December 11, 2025, the Palace urged the public to disregard all reports attempting to drag its name into the ongoing feud within the musician’s immediate family, particularly involving Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, Ernestina Fosua, and the spouses of the late icon.

The statement also cautioned the public to avoid associating the Palace with any preparations concerning the final burial rites of Daddy Lumba.

“Manhyia urges the general public to disregard any reports attempting to associate the Palace with matters concerning the preparations for the burial and funeral rites of Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba,” the disclaimer read.

Following the Palace’s statement, netizens have questioned whether Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, December 13, 2025, or whether the ceremony will be postponed to March 2026.

The Manyhia Palace’s statement follows a series of controversies that have sparked widespread discussion online, as the late musician’s family members engage in heated disputes over the burial date, autopsy findings, widowhood rites, and other arrangements.

While seeking redress in court, members of the Fosu family also presented the matter before the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following Ernestina Fosu’s invocation of Otumfuo’s Ntam Kese.
