Ghana has taken its first major step into the global card-gaming industry with the unveiling of the country’s first locally developed card games. The launch, held on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Dzorwulu, Accra, marked a historic moment for the nation’s creative arts and entertainment sector.

The milestone was led by AB Card Games, which introduced its brand alongside its debut collection, the Say Something series. The range includes the Spicy Edition, Global Edition, Ghana Edition, and a Complete Edition, all built around the simple idea that every card starts a conversation.

The launch event brought together creatives, industry stakeholders and card-game lovers for an evening of music, dancing, photoshoots, cocktails, networking and live demonstrations of the new games.

Co-founders Evans Fiifi Aboah Odoi and Lawyer Fredericka Amfo Boakye-Duah shared the origins of the project, explaining that their passion for card games highlighted a gap in the market. Many existing games, they said, felt foreign and failed to reflect Ghanaian culture or everyday experiences.

This inspired them to design and print Ghana’s first homegrown card games—created entirely in Ghana and tailored to spark meaningful interaction.

Beyond entertainment, AB Card Games also aligns its work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals by promoting well-being, supporting education, encouraging sustainable production and building partnerships.

The founders believe their products will foster connection, learning and mental wellness while showcasing Ghanaian creativity. With ambitions to become Africa’s leading card-game brand, AB Card Games aims to champion culture and community through play.
