    El campeón mundial de peso crucero de la FIB y la revista Ring, Jai Opetaia (29-0, 23 KOs), retuvo sus títulos con un nocaut en el octavo asalto sobre el previamente invicto Huseyin Cinkara (23-1, 19 KOs) en el Centro de Convenciones Gold Coast en Broadbeach, Australia, el sábado por la noche

    El alemán Cinkara, de origen turco, salió a pelear, pero al final se quedó corto. Opetaia lo liquidó con un zurdazo cortante, hábilmente camuflado tras fintas corporales. Cinkara, de 40 años, no lo vio venir.

    Y no vio mucho más después de eso.

    Cinkara permaneció inconsciente en la lona durante varios minutos tras la suspensión de la pelea. Fue trasladado al hospital al recuperarse.

    Siempre perfeccionista, Opetaia no estaba contento con su actuación.

    “Tenemos estas noches. Volvemos a empezar de cero”, dijo el zurdo australiano de 30 años.

    Estoy muy decepcionado conmigo mismo. Siento que decepcioné a algunos con esa actuación. Cometí muchos errores.

    Opetaia lleva mucho tiempo buscando una pelea contra el campeón de la AMB y la OMB, Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramírez (48-1, 30 nocauts). El mexicano de 34 años, también zurdo, aún no ha mostrado interés en la pelea.

    “Queremos las peleas de unificación”, dijo Opetaia. “Queremos a Ramírez. Llevo mucho tiempo pidiendo su apoyo”.
