    Nicholas Aklorbotu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication officer who was recently appointed as the regional monitoring and evaluation officer for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has died in an accident at Adaklu.

    According to multiple reports online, the accident occurred on Friday, December 5, 2025.

    He was reportedly on his way to spend the weekend with his family in Sogakope when suddenly he ended up in a motorbike accident.

    He was part of a collision that involved three motorbikes; during the crash, one of the bikes was said to be carrying extra fuel in a container along with a passenger.

    The impact caused the fuel to spill and ignite, leading to a fierce fire.

    “Sadly, he was involved in a severe motorcycle accident that included three other bikes. During the crash, one of the motorcycles was carrying extra fuel along with a passenger.

    “This extra fuel ignited, causing a fire. The resulting blaze completely destroyed Hon. Aklorbortu’s bike, burning it beyond recognition. Tragically, one other person died at the scene of the accident. The unfortunate accident took place around Adaklu,” a post by Sogakope Updates on Saturday, December 6, 2025, read.
