Sir John, the New Patriotic Party First Vice Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaian voters to massively support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections.
He emphasized the New Patriotic Party‘s (NPP) proven track record of introducing citizen-centered policies and programs.
Sir John highlighted several transformative NPP initiatives, including:
National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS): Making healthcare more affordable for Ghanaians, despite NDC’s introduction of obstacles that reduced its effectiveness.
Free Maternity Care for Women: Providing free maternity care, cut by the NDC, leaving women without necessary assistance.
School Feeding Programme: Enhancing earning outcomes and encouraging school attendance in underprivileged communities.
Free Secondary Education (Free SHS): Improving access to secondary education, relieving parents of school fees.
Free Internet in Secondary Schools: Providing necessary tech skills for the future.
Teacher and Nursing Trainee Allowances: Assisting students with training and encouraging young people to pursue these careers, canceled by the NDC.
Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP): Distributing cash grants to poorest households, assisting vulnerable communities.
Sir John emphasized that the NDC’s cancellation of critical programs, such as Free Maternity Care, Teacher Trainee Allowances, and Nursing Trainee Allowances, harmed the intended beneficiaries. He also criticized the NDC for “messing up” the National Health Insurance Scheme.
He urged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP to protect and expand these social intervention programs.
“A vote for Dr. Bawumia as president, as well as a vote for the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate, across Ghana,” he stated. “Vote for number one (1) to ensure continuity and protect our long-standing policies and flagship programs.”
This call to action comes as Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team expresses optimism about his victory in the 2024 general elections, believing Ghanaians are resolved to give him the opportunity to lead the country.
