The former Black Stars coach has significantly improved the Sudan national team since his appointment in September 2023, mapping out a long-term project that has produced positive results.

One of his remarkable achievements was guiding the Falcons of Jediane to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the expense of the Black Stars, who were in the same group.

Although Sudan did not qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the team’s performances were considered impressive given.

Sudan are in Group E for the AFCON and will face North African giants Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Burkina Faso for a slot in the knockout phase.

The 35th edition of AFCON is scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco, with 24 countries competing for glory.
