The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has reacted to the recent drop in inflation, describing it as real and measurable progress.

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) on Tuesday, December 3, 2025, announced that the inflation rate for November 2025 had fallen from 8.0% to 6.3% — the lowest level since February 2021.

In a post shared on his X page on December 4, 2025, Dr Forson expressed satisfaction with the figures, noting that the government’s key reforms are yielding positive results.

“I am especially delighted by the sharp fall in food inflation, down from 9.5 percent in October to 6.6 percent in November. And it is not just food. Price pressures are easing across the board,” he wrote.

He added that the gains extend beyond food inflation, citing recent data from the Ghana Statistical Service.

“Local inflation has slowed from 8.0 percent to 6.8 percent, while imported inflation has fallen even faster, from 7.8 percent to 5.0 percent. This is real, measurable progress!” he emphasised.

This marks the eleventh consecutive month of declining inflation.
