The legally married wife of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, Akosua Serwaa, has broken her silence following the conclusion of the family’s long-running legal battle with his other wife, Priscilla Ofori (aka “Odo Broni”).

In a video widely shared on social media, Serwaa, dressed in traditional funeral black, thanked supporters both online and in real life.

She expressed her gratitude to well-wishers, including members of the public, the Legal Wife Team, and prominent allies such as Papa Shee, for standing by her during what she described as “trying times.”

“I want to first thank God, and secondly, all social media platforms and every Ghanaian, Team Legal Wives and husbands of members of Team Legal Wives, Papa Shee… the list is endless. You have shown me love and stood by me in these trying times,” she said.

Serwaa also appealed for unity and encouraged her followers to remain hopeful.

“Let us continue to walk in love. The victory is for all of us. The Bible says that those who put their hope in the Lord will not be disappointed. May God be with us,” she added.

Her statement comes shortly after the ruling of the Kumasi High Court on November 28, 2025, which declared that both Serwaa and Odo Broni are lawful surviving spouses of Daddy Lumba, rejecting Serwaa’s bid to be recognised as the sole surviving wife.

Her lawyer, William Kusi, confirmed that they plan to appeal the decision, maintaining that their substantive case remains valid and that they will pursue all legal avenues to secure what they believe to be Serwaa’s rightful status as a legal wife of the late musician.
