Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with British media personality Piers Morgan has gained attention following the airing of the interview on various social media platforms.

Marriage
The former Manchester United forward revealed that his friends brought the ring, and his daughter woke him up at 1 a.m. to say, “Daddy, take this ring and propose to Mummy.”
“I knew from that moment that it was the right time for me to take such a step. I knew I was going to do it one day, but I didn’t plan to do it on that particular day,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan.
He also disclosed that they plan to tie the knot after the 2026 World Cup.
“Not yet decided [wedding day], we plan to do it after the World Cup… hopefully with the trophy,” he added.
GOAT Debate
The Al Nassr attacker stated that winning the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy does not validate one’s status as the greatest player in football history.
“It’s not a dream for me to win the World Cup… You want a World Cup to define the best player in history? One competition with six or seven games—you think that’s fair?” he questioned.
Manchester United
Ronaldo disclosed that he still supports his former club but believes Manchester United is on the wrong path due to recent performances and decisions.
“Of course. I was there for so many years. I won the Champions League, the Ballon d’Or, 12, 13, 14 titles… Manchester United will always be in my heart. I LOVE that club. But we have to be honest and say: they’re not on the right path. It’s not just about the coach or players, they need change, across the board,” he said.
Retirement
Speaking on when he intends to hang up his boots, he said, “Soon. But I think I will be prepared. Will it [retirement] be tough? Of course. Will it be difficult? Yes. Will I probably cry? Yes. But I’ve prepared my future since I was 25, 26, 27 years old.”

The former Juventus attacker said he will closely follow his son’s football career and offer guidance to help him succeed.
“I want to follow my kids, especially Cristiano Jr., after my retirement. Because he has reached an age where they do stupid things, and it’s normal, I did it too. I want to be there for him,” he noted.
