A 43-year-old woman from Cape Coast, Agnes Crentsil, who graduated as the oldest among a team of youth trained as Community Police Assistants, has recounted how she successfully scaled over the hurdle at age 43.

Sharing her joy after a successful graduation, Agnes, a resident of Nungua, posited that her passion for the job propelled her to overcome all the hard training at her present age.

She said, “I am here because of John Mahama, and I am so happy that I have successfully passed with passion. I have a strong passion for this work, which is why I came, and I have graduated today.”

She explained that she was regarded as a leader throughout their training period prior to graduation.

“I have always been their leader, guiding and shouting at them to wake up on time and get to training throughout the period, that’s why I am referred to as Mama Gee, which means General,” She remarked.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has assured the graduates of the Community Police Assistant Programme, including 43-year-old Agnes Crentsil, of prompt payment of salaries to enable them to serve effectively.

Speaking at their passing-out ceremony at the Ghana Police Academy in Tesano on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Basintale hinted that monthly payments had been secured under the programme.

“I’ve made it a point that your salaries that will be paid to you will not be arrears. It will be paid on a monthly basis, so you could get your salaries and you could work and work hard for Mother Ghana,” he stated.
