Four Nigerians have been remanded in police custody for allegedly causing harm to a compatriot.

The accused are Emmanuel Taboshi, Samuel Emujakporue, Wisdom Odebala and Ovie Onokpachere.

They pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit crime, to wit causing harm and being on a premises for unlawful purpose.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Moses Agbo, said that the complainant is also a Nigerian, who does business in Ghana.

The court heard that on January 18, a fight ensued between the friends, who were Nigerians living at Nungua.

ASP Agbo said some passersby including the complainant separated the two and advised them to embrace peace.

The policeman noted that Taboshi, who was at the scene, but did not take part in the fight, later invited the three other accused and proceeded to the house of the complainant.

ASP Agbo said when they got to the house of the complainant, an old woman, who was seated at the entrance of the house, told accused that the complainant was not home.

The court heard that the accused ignored the woman and went into house.

ASP Agbo told the court that the accused knocked on the complaint’s door and invited him for a fight.

He said the complainant, who was on his way to work, told the accused he was not ready for a fight, and asked them leave the house.

There upon, the accused started beating the complainant and stabbed him with a knife, ASP Agbo told the court.

He said accused fled the scene when the complainant shouted for help.

ASP Agbo further stated that the accused was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

The case has been adjourned to February 28.
