According to Modern Ghana, a tragic occurrence occurred along the Accra-Kumasi route when a bus carrying multiple passengers toppled, killing three and injuring four.

The accident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning, generating concern among drivers and neighbors nearby.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus, which was going from Kumasi to Accra, lost control when the driver attempted to overtake a slower-moving vehicle.

It went off the road and flipped over, resting on its side in a ditch. Emergency personnel rushed to the area to assist individuals trapped inside the wreckage.

Unfortunately, three people were killed on the spot, while four others suffered varied degrees of injuries.

One of the casualties, a 32-year-old male named Kwame Ofori, was certified dead at the site. He was a well-known trader in Kumasi, with a reputation for doing business.

Another deceased passenger, 29-year-old Afia Asantewaa, was a student on her way to Accra for studies. The third fatality, a 45-year-old man, has yet to be identified because he had no identification.

The injured passengers were promptly transported to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. Among them, a 22-year-old student named Kofi Amponsah is stated to be in critical condition.

The remaining three injured victims have been regarded as stable and are likely to recover soon.

Local police have initiated an inquiry into the cause of the collision, and preliminary indications indicate that speeding may have had a role in the unfortunate event.

The authorities are urging drivers to take caution, particularly on crowded roadways, to avoid such occurrences in the future.

Our prayers are with the victims’ families, and we hope that those injured recover quickly.
