The public drama involving music icon Innocent ‘2Baba‘ Idibia and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, has intensified as the singer’s family has reportedly taken the matter to law enforcement.

The controversy first escalated after a confrontation between the couple appeared during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.
The footage, along with emerging concerns about the couple’s relationship, prompted the Edo State House of Assembly to summon Osawaru before its Ethics and Privileges Committee.
In the midst of public speculation, 2Baba attempted to reassure fans, stating that he was safe and well.
According to reports, 2Baba’s family has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urging an investigation into Osawaru over a range of serious allegations.
In a letter dated November 12, the family accused the lawmaker of physical assault, bigamy, financial misconduct, and misappropriation of funds.
They alleged that her actions resulted in emotional distress, damage to 2Baba’s reputation, and financial losses.
The petition reportedly lists several concerns, including: Alleged physical assaults, unauthorized access to the singer’s phone and bank accounts, seizing his personal belongings and travel documents.
In their appeal, the petitioners asked police authorities to thoroughly investigate the allegations, expressing fears for 2Baba’s personal safety and emotional well-being.
This is not the first time the singer’s family has raised public concern. In February, they reportedly petitioned the State Security Service (SSS), claiming 2Baba had gone missing.
At the time, the family said neither his record label, close associates, nor staff members were able to reach him.
They further alleged that friends received calls from unknown individuals using the singer’s social media accounts to request money, fueling fears of possible abduction.
