Assistant coach of Black Stars says the team is ready to win remaining matches Assistant coach of Black Stars says the team is ready to win remaining matches

Assistant coach of Black Stars, John Paintsil, says he is confident of winning their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers scheduled for next month.

After back-to-back wins in March earlier this year, the senior national team will face Chad and Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 games of the qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of the games, Paintsil stressed that the team is ready for the games but called on Ghanaians to offer the team the right support.

“We are ready for the task ahead, but I will call on Ghanaians to support the team ahead of these two games,” he told Asempa FM.

“I hope our players will be injury-free for these games because we need them for the rest of the games.

“We are confident, but we also expect a tough challenge, and with the right support from Ghanaians, I know that we will achieve our objective,” he added.

The Black Stars will face Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique in N’Djamena, before hosting Mali on Monday, September 8, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana currently lead Group I after six matches and are pushing for a fifth appearance at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will open camp on Monday, September 1.
