Ghanaian music duo Keche has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with organisers of the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) following their loss in the ‘Group of the Year’ category.

The award, reinstated after a three-year hiatus, was won by gospel group Team Eternity Ghana, surpassing nominees including Keche, Lali X Lola, Kwan Pa, and Bethel Revival Choir.

Reacting to this in a post on their X handle on May 18, 2025, Keche stated, “We will never forget what TGMA did to us; they know we deserve that best group award.”

This reaction follows their earlier reaction on May 11, the night of the awards, where they wrote, “Hmmmm, it’s well. You people really Mia us but we no bore.”

Prior to the event, Joshua Keche had expressed confidence in their prospects, telling GhanaWeb, “I don’t want to see CharterHouse giving the Group of the Year Award to anyone else apart from us.”

The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) was held on May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrating the achievements of Ghanaian musicians over the past year.

Afrobeats star King Promise emerged as the biggest winner of the night, clinching the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ award, along with accolades for ‘Best Album/EP of the Year’ for his project True to Self and ‘Afropop Song of the Year’ for “Paris”.

Other notable winners included Stonebwoy, who secured ‘Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste’ and ‘Best Music Video’ for “Jejereje,” and Kweku Smoke, who took home ‘Best Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste’ and ‘Best Rap Performance’.
