King Paluta’s manager, Cofy Dela, has questioned why the rapper-singer continues to be overlooked as a top contender for Artiste of the Year (AOTY) at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), despite delivering three major hits during the awards’ review period.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Dela passionately argued that Paluta’s impact over the past year has been unmatched.

He cited tracks like Makoma, Aseda, and For the Papping (Apicki), which dominated the airwaves and became street anthems, adding that it is baffling how King Paluta (born Thomas Adjei Wireko) is still considered an underdog in a category that includes artists like Stonebwoy and King Promise.

“By every available metric, King Paluta deserves AOTY more than any other artiste in the category. His presence and influence were undeniable. Can any of his competitors boast two hit songs from the review year? Paluta didn’t just release music—he dropped three bangers that became cultural movements,” he stated.

Dela also highlighted how Paluta’s music transcended entertainment, serving as a soundtrack for political campaigns during Ghana’s 2024 election season.

“His songs energized rallies nationwide. Did any other artiste have that level of influence? No!” he argued.

Beyond the awards, Dela shared why he chose to manage King Paluta, citing the artist’s “unique vision, relentless drive, and dedication to his craft.”

“He embodies perseverance and consistency. My goal is to help him maximize his potential, and this year has proven he’s already a winner in the hearts of fans,” he added.
