A Member of Parliament in Morocco has called for the suspension and prosecution of DR Congo referee Jean-Jacques Ndala for his performance in the controversial 2025 AFCON final.

The 38-year-old was the center man in Rabat as Senegal scored an extra-time winner to beat host country Morocco to secure their second AFCON title.

Prior to Pape Gueye’s 94th minute winner, the Teranga Lions had walked off the field of play in protest of a last-gasp penalty award in favour of the host.

Pape Thiaw, Senegal’s head coach, marched his side off the field but they later returned to continue the tie with Brahim Diaz missing the crucial penalty kick which could have sealed the ultimate for the North Africans.

According to Algatedz, Member of Parliament Mohamed Simou has called for the referee Jean Jacques Ndala who officiated the AFCON final to be suspended and put on trial.

Simou also claims the referee improperly restarted the match after the Senegal team had left the field.

He accused the Senegalese squad of practicing “black magic” in the locker room prior to Brahim 🇲🇦Díaz’s penalty kick.

The Confederation of African Football have officially suspended Senegal coach Pape Thiaw for marching his side off the field during the game.
