The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will officially get underway on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Hearts of Oak welcome top-flight debutants Hohoe United in the opening fixture.

The Phobians, now led by experienced tactician Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, are determined to launch their campaign with a strong performance.

After an impressive pre-season that saw them overcome arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the Top 4 tournament and later clinch the Democracy Cup against Great Olympics, confidence is high in the camp.

Supporters believe the momentum built over the last few weeks could propel Hearts into a promising season.

Key to their hopes is midfielder Abdul Karim, George Paaku and attacker Frank Abora Duku, who stood out during pre-season preparations.

Their creativity and attacking drive are expected to play a decisive role against the newcomers.

Still, Hearts will be cautious not to underestimate their opponents, knowing how unpredictable opening-day fixtures can be.

Hohoe United, meanwhile, are stepping onto the Premier League stage for the very first time in their history.

Under the leadership of coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru, a former Hearts boss, the debutants have strengthened with the arrivals of Solomon Adomako, Michael Yeboah, and Adamu Alhassan.

The Volta Region outfit are eager to make an early statement, and Friday’s clash provides the perfect platform to showcase their intent.

The encounter promises drama, passion, and a glimpse of what lies ahead in the 2025/26 season.
