Hearts of Oak have lost back-to-back matches against Bechem United and Dreams Hearts of Oak have lost back-to-back matches against Bechem United and Dreams

Bibiani Gold Stars will host Hearts of Oak at Dun’s Park on Sunday in a crucial Premier League clash. The home side will be aiming to maintain their grip on the top spot, while Hearts of Oak seek to bounce back from consecutive defeats that have put coach Aboubakar Ouattara under pressure.

Gold Stars come into this fixture with confidence, having beaten Basake Holy Stars last Wednesday. They have been resolute defensively at home, keeping three consecutive clean sheets. In contrast, Hearts of Oak are struggling, losing back-to-back matches against Bechem United and Dreams. Their attack has been blunt in recent away games, failing to score in their last three outings.

The two sides have met six times since May 2022, with each team winning twice and two games ending in draws. Their most recent encounter was in October 2024, when Gold Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory.

Gold Stars have been one of the most consistent teams this season, winning 11 of their 22 matches, drawing seven, and losing four. They have scored 21 goals while conceding just 12. Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, have 10 wins, six draws, and six defeats, scoring 19 goals and conceding 12.

Gold Stars currently sit at the top of the table with 40 points, while Hearts of Oak are in fifth place with 36 points. A win for Hearts would keep them in the title race, while Gold Stars will look to extend their lead at the summit.
