Police in the New Juabeng South District have arrested thirteen Nigerian nationals after a long police probe in Koforidua and nearby areas. The suspects, whose ages range from fifteen to thirty one, were picked up over claims linked to sex work within the town and its surroundings. Officers say the arrests followed careful checks, quiet visits, and steady follow up on reports from people who live and work in the area. The police command said the action was meant to deal with growing worries raised by residents about open sex work in some parts of Koforidua.

The arrests did not end with the suspects alone. Police also picked up other people during the operation, including some landlords who are believed to have helped the activities continue
