Young Apostles

Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Young Apostles have set their primary goal for the upcoming season: maintaining their status in the top flight.

The Wenchi-based club, which secured promotion from the Division One League last season, is gearing up for its debut in the domestic top division.

Young Apostles clinched their spot in the Ghana Premier League with a thrilling victory over Techiman Heroes in the Division One League Zone 1 play-off. After a 1-1 draw following extra time, the team triumphed in a penalty shootout at the Accra Sports Stadium, sealing their place in the 2024-25 season.

The new Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on September 6, 2024, with Young Apostles facing Nsoatreman FC in their opening match.

Speaking to Wontumi FM, club president Sammy Anim Addo outlined their ambitions, stating, “We want to stay in the Ghana Premier League, get five players who will play for the various national teams, and can also be marketable in Europe because Young Apostles is a development team.”

Addo emphasized that their focus on player development will continue despite their promotion, adding, “We won’t stop developing players after Premier League promotion. Ghanaians should watch out for players between 16 and 17 years old, who will take the league by storm.”

As Young Apostles embark on their Premier League journey, their blend of ambition and focus on nurturing young talent will be key to their success.
