Yaw Boateng Gyan reacts to 2-year ban by Ghana FA ethics [Peace FM] — Ghana Sports Online


Yaw Boateng Gyan, the Board Chairman of Bofoakwa Tano, who has been handed a two-year ban by the Ghana FA’s Ethic chamber says he has appealed against the ruling.

In a verdict published on the website of the Ghana FA on Friday, Mr. Boateng Gyan’s comments on Accra-based radio station Angel FM to be of defamatory nature and was handed a two-year ban from taking taking part in any football-related activity for two years with immediate effect.

During an interview with Accra-based Peace FM on Monday morning, the former Black Stars Management Committee member told Dan Kwaku Yeboah that he has appealed against the ruling.

“In all these things due processes must be followed and so I have duly appealed against the ruling,” he said.

According to the Ethics Committee, it found Mr Boateng Gyan to have violated Section 22(3) of the GFA Code of Ethics, and Article 11(2)(a),(b) & (d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019) and is sanctioned with a fine of GHC5,000 as well as a ban on taking part in any football-related activity for two years with effect from the date of this decision.

He is also required to publicly retract the said comment and shall provide audio evidence of the performance of same to the Committee.

He has also been served with a warning to be of good behavior, in accordance with Section 2 Article 7(1) (a) (Disciplinary Measures) of the GFA Code of Ethics.
